Love Your Landscape with KC Landscapes & Pools

With warmer weather just around the flagstone path, it’s time to enhance your outdoor spaces.

If you don’t know where to even begin on your landscaping, don’t worry. Michael Jones, president of KC Landscapes & Pools says you don’t need all the answers before you start. Just make sure you choose a contractor with a proven track record who stands behind their work and will be around to help you long-term.

“I believe that a space evolves,” Michael says. “You don’t have to do everything at once. You can let it ‘breathe’ and develop in phases. We can be there for that entire process of figuring out what you want and making it a reality. We love bringing new ideas to enhance your space.”

Since 1996, locally owned and operated KC Landscapes has been specializing in custom in-ground swimming pool design/installation and landscaping solutions that are serene, stunning and spectacular.

“We’ve mastered the art of blurring the lines between inside and outside. Our landscape designers bring together the best design and construction methods to realize your vision, weaving subtle details throughout your hardscaping with low-maintenance gardens that use natural plantings and year-round color.”

With 85 full-time employees, KC Landscapes provides area homeowners with a full range of outdoor options, including gardens, pools, cabanas/pergolas, flagstone paths, interlocking patios, natural stone walls and aquascape features including ponds, waterfalls, fountains and more. The company offers total care and full-service maintenance on anything they build.

“Our production staff treats their work as if it is art and have such pride in both the process and the result,” he adds. “There’s nothing like feeling you’re a part of providing something that is truly exceptional.”

Michael says today’s customers are choosing to go beyond standard, run-of-the-mill landscapes in favor of unusual designs using Gunite (a mixture of cement, sand, and water) to construct high-end creations, such as building a swimming pool with a slide embedded into rocks. Other trends include freshwater pools or ponds for a natural look; custom landscape lighting choreographed with music and movement (think Union Station); and incorporating art into the landscape with bronze sculptures and art traditionally used indoors or for the ultra-wealthy.

“They’re more affordable and available than people think and can completely transform, elevate, and personalize your look—as only art can.”

Michael is also president of the companion company True North Outdoors whose corporate clients include the Nelson-Atkins, Zona Rosa, Oak Park Mall and others. (Check out the new lighted sculpture near L.L. Bean in Leawood.)

The company regularly supports several local organizations including the Band Of Angels and Build Trybe, providing disadvantaged and at-risk youth the resources they need to overcome life’s challenges through mentorship and career development, especially in the skilled trades. “We love being a part of these amazing organizations and are proud to put our money to work inside the KC community.”

KC Landscapes is fully insured, bonded and certified. They offer free estimates and frequent incentives: “We’re affordable and do our best to make every project work within a customer’s budget.”
