Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 12 oz (approximately 2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt
- In a separate large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract with an electric mixer at medium to high speed until light and fluffy
- Turn mixer to low speed and gradually add the dry ingredients
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for 1/2 hour
- Roll the dough into balls, approximately 2 tbsp each, and place two inches apart on a lined baking sheet
- Bake at 350° for 11 to 15 minutes, or until edges are golden brown
- Cool before serving
