Meet Buckhead's Lisa Stein

According to the experts, the big jewelry trends this fall are statement earrings, high-style hoops, pinky rings and layered chains - - which is great news to local fine jewelry designer Lisa Stein of LA Stein.  Working from her home in south Buckhead, Lisa has been creating a purposeful line of earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets that have meaning to her and to those who shop her line.

“I make my jewelry because of the experiences I have had. People connect with the symbolism of my pieces because of the experiences they have had,” says Stein of her Rebel, Stargazer and Gamechanger lines.

Through a series of traumatic events that lead to the death of her husband, Lisa struggled, but found great strength in her craft.  Many of her designs are symbolic of the loss, rebuilding and inspirational experiences she has had along the way.

The Compass, made with white, yellow or rose gold and pave diamonds, represents the search for luck, success, wisdom and guidance. The Stella Star is a reminder that you’re heading in the right direction, your true North Star, and the Hamsa Protection amulet symbolizes the hand of God of all faiths, and hope and peace in today’s world. The Connexion Ring, two rings linked by a chain, reminds us that we are all connected, and is customizable with a message or names.

A former clothing designer, Lisa loves fashion and finds her favorite pieces at Jeffrey at Phipps Plaza and T. Women’s Clothing, who carries her jewelry. She loves to mix her own jewels with other designers she finds at Tassels (where you can also shop LA Stein). Other favorite Buckhead boutiques include Peoples, Rebecca and Sabot.

Lisa’s classic look is numerous layered chokers and chains, hoop earrings, two or three rings and a timeless blouse.  Her line has caught the attention of many celebrities, including Jill Scott, Issa Rae, Dolly Parton and Usher.  Lisa’s classic 18-karat yellow gold and diamond, hand-forged signature hoops’ namesake is Jessica, as in Alba.

Buckhead is home base for Lisa and her favorite dining spots are Lazy Betty, Bocca Lupo and Le Bilboquet. Most of her business meetings take place at Dancing Goat and Anis, where she orders the Salade de Saumon.

When she’s not traveling from coast to coast doing trunk shows or going to market, Lisa loves to spend time with her grown children and donate her time and resources to causes that support women’s equality and breast cancer research. Follow Lisa @l.a.stein or visit LAStein.com
