Mizzen+Main is an innovative company transforming the landscape of the apparel industry by making the world’s most comfortable menswear.

Launched in July 2012 by Kevin Lavelle, the brand invented the world’s first performance fabric dress shirt and they’ve continued to innovate traditional menswear by creating classic styles that are also moisture wicking, wrinkle free, high stretch and machine washable.

Mizzen+Main has quickly become a favorite among a variety of customers, especially professional athletes. The brand has been endorsed by NFL great J.J. Watt and American championship golfer Phil Mickelson.

Mizzen+Main is carried in more than 750 retail locations across the U.S. and Canada, as well as through its rapidly expanding e-commerce presence and pop-up shops. The company has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Esquire, The Wall Street Journal, Men’s Health and more.

A company with heart

The company has a long-standing commitment to giving back to the veteran community through partnerships over the years and a dedicated focus on the Adaptive Training Foundation, which provides access and inclusion to individuals living with physical or traumatic impairments by empowering them through exercise and community.

It’s estimated that there are nearly five million veterans living with a service-connected disability, more than two million individuals living with limb loss, and nearly 300,000 Americans affected by a spinal cord injury. The support of brands like Mizzen+Main helps affected individuals defy the impossible and realize the mission of the Adaptive Training Foundation.

Community service and support give Mizzen+Main a meaningful way of giving back to others in various ways.

Early beginnings

After working as a management consultant abroad and in Dallas for the Hunt family, Kevin decided to launch the Mizzen+Main brand, first as an online business and through trade show promotions. When he couldn’t get in to certain trade shows, he went door-to-door to share the value of his clothing line to retailers.

By 2018, Kevin had opened his first permanent Mizzen+Main store, and the line is now carried through other retail locations across the U.S. and in Canada.

Mizzen+Main Southlake is the company’s seventh store location. West Village in Dallas is the company’s first, flagship location.

The support of the pro athlete world has really helped the brand gain traction, not just thanks to fans like J.J. Watt and professional golfers, but also with Major League Baseball players. Mizzen+Main has done numerous MLB trunk shows to share the benefits of the clothing line with these athletes as well.

Today, the company caters to a diverse customer base of anyone looking for comfort and ease of wear in both casual and professional clothing.

What makes the brand so successful?

Mizzen+Main shook up the industry when it created a new category of performance dress shirts that didn’t previously exist. This dress shirt is the company’s signature product. But it’s also just a part of the success.

“Everything we make feels like your favorite athletic gear, and guys just love being comfortable,” Kevin explains. Mizzen+Main is conveniently located in Southlake Town Square; they are open daily to help all the fellas in your life look great while maintaining the utmost comfort.

For Kevin Lavell, persistence, dedication and innovation paid off. He created his first shirt prototype in 2011. Back then, only a few friends and family members made a purchase.

Undeterred, he spent the next two years tirelessly trying to sell his product and had hired his first full-time employee by 2014.

His wife, Jen, is also involved in the company. They have two children.
