Making Customers Happy Since 1917

The team at McGlinch and Sons Co. has been prioritizing customers for 104 years—and doesn’t plan to stop now.

Serving metro Detroit and Southeastern Michigan, the family-owned and operated McGlinch and Sons Co. of Farmington Hills handles all aspects of exterior construction, including roofing, skylights, siding, windows, doors, gutters, stone and decks. And they’ve been successfully doing so since 1917.

“Satisfied customers, good prices, top-rated products, the best warranties and excellent financing are all what have kept us rolling for 104 years,” said Micheal McGlinch, grandson to the late Leander McGlinch, who originally founded the family business. As President of McGlinch and Sons Co., Micheal said his team does whatever it takes to make customers happy. 

“We’re always discovering better products and finding ways to better install them, but we also still have that old-fashioned family value system within the company, always making the customer our priority, first and foremost,” agreed Ryan, one of Micheal’s sons. Ryan and his brother, Brendan, are the Vice Presidents of McGlinch and Sons Co. Juliet, Micheal’s wife and the boys’ mother, is the office manager. 

At the office, there is always someone in an ownership role present, making themselves as accessible to customers as they can; additionally, as technology evolves, crews are regularly trained to be certified expert installers in order to ensure that customers’ project requests are personally met, always thinking of their needs first and providing what is the best for their home project.

Because his team prioritizes customer service and offers a high quality of workmanship, Micheal said they get a lot of referrals, some even spanning several generations. “I often hear things like, ‘Oh my gosh! You guys did work for my great grandfather!,’” Micheal said. 

Over time, as Ryan and Brendan take on even more responsibility at the family business, Ryan said they do not plan to stray from the values of home improvement excellence that were instilled into his family by his great grandfather: “If you’re doing things the right way, your values shouldn’t have to evolve as they’re already where they should be.”

Located at 29565 Grand River is 20,000 square feet of McGlinch and Son Co.’s offices, showroom and warehouse where customers can view windows, doorwalls, stone products, gutters, gutter guards, roofing displays, skylights and more. 

“Our showroom gives people an idea of what they might want and how things should be correctly done,” Micheal explained. “They can stop by anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays or Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as there are always people available to show them our products.”
