At The ProActive Clinic in Redondo Beach, chiropractic care isn’t just about realigning the spine—it’s about making the right adjustments for the whole body, supporting long-term wellness, and changing how people think about chiropractic care. For Dr. Aryan Dibagohar D.C.—known to patients as Dr. Diba—this approach reflects both technical skill and human compassion.
“I’ve always been good with my hands. I loved fixing things as a kid,” Dr. Diba recalled. “If the vacuum would break, I’d take it apart and figure out how to make it work again. When it came time to choose a career, I realized I could fix people’s bodies through chiropractic. I kind of put two of my passions together.” That passion led him to UCLA for his bachelor’s degree and then to the Southern California University of Health Sciences, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and graduated at the top of his class.
At The ProActive Clinic, Dr. Diba’s treatments go far beyond a simple adjustment. Sessions combine electric muscle stimulation (ESTIM), moist heat therapy, deep muscle work, and precise adjustments. “A lot of chiropractors, all they do is adjust, and I could adjust you over and over and over, but if your muscles are tight, they just pull the bone out of place again,” he explains. Loosening muscles first ensures patients get lasting relief rather than a temporary fix. Even small adjustments, when applied in conjunction with a whole body approach, can have long-lasting effects—something Dr. Diba keeps in mind with every patient.
Patients notice the difference firsthand. “I’ve been seeing Dr. Diba once a month. [He] is very attentive and not just about adjustments. I think that the muscle work is more effective than just an adjustment. Compared to other chiropractors, that's something that’s emphasized here more,” said Jordan Balderes, a patient who commutes to the South Bay from mid-city Los Angeles.
Dr. Diba treats a wide range of muscular issues, not just spine-related problems. For example, he’s helped patients with plantar fasciitis regain mobility by working on tight calves and muscles in the foot. He’s also treated people experiencing numbness and tingling in the arms—often misdiagnosed as carpal tunnel—by addressing tension in the neck and upper back.
Another common issue is piriformis syndrome, where tight glute muscles irritate the sciatic nerve, making sitting or standing very painful—something Dr. Diba has personally experienced. And for those hunched over computers or working long hours, he helps relieve neck, upper-back, and lower-back tension that can lead to chronic discomfort.
Chiropractic care is often misunderstood. Many people believe chiropractors only work on the spine and only perform adjustments, but Dr. Diba emphasizes that he can help nearly any muscular or skeletal issue. “People don’t even realize I could work on your calf. If you have plantar fasciitis and you're barely able to walk, we can work on that. We don’t have to adjust the body if you don’t feel comfortable with it,” he explained.
He also distinguishes his practice from “drive-through” models that focus on speed and low cost. “They’ve taken out the whole [medical] history, the whole personal experience of a chiropractor, and the whole diagnosis portion of it. You go in, they adjust you, and wham bam, you’re out,” Dr. Diba said. Without proper diagnosis, underlying causes of pain can be missed or treated incorrectly. It’s not just about adjusting repeatedly—it’s about making the right adjustments that address the root issue.
Preventative, proactive care is a cornerstone of Dr. Diba’s philosophy. Even patients without pain benefit from regular visits and daily stretches. “Usually everybody is out of alignment in some way or another…Once your bones are in place, when everything is optimal, when your nerves aren't being pinched because the bone is out of place, then you live your best life,” he noted.
He also encourages a holistic lifestyle: clean diet, exercise, stretching, and monthly adjustments to maintain optimal alignment and wellness. Dr. Diba practices what he preaches, incorporating wellness into his own life.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Diba’s life revolves around family. He also enjoys a little retail therapy, especially shopping for clothes and shoes. He and his wife—a chiropractor and acupuncturist—are raising two young daughters. “What I love most about being a dad is probably putting my best foot forward and showing them as much love as I can and watching them grow. It really is satisfying,” he said. Their five-year-old Maltipoo, Louis, rounds out the family. Even with a busy practice, Dr. Diba makes time for family walks and small daily wellness rituals, like stretching and taking a multivitamin.
At The ProActive Clinic, Dr. Diba shows that a single, carefully executed adjustment—paired with personalized muscle work and education about preventative strategies—can transform not only posture and mobility, but overall well-being. Thoughtful changes—whether spinal, muscular, or lifestyle adjustments—are the right adjustments for lasting health, leaving patients feeling aligned, balanced, and ready to live their best lives.
