What are Back-to-School Days?
Daniel Strobel, Marketing Director: As students across Middle Tennessee prepare to return to the classroom, Nashville Shores Waterpark offers a special promotion to help them enjoy one final blast of summer fun. The park’s annual Back-to-School Days event provides significant savings for students and their families throughout the month of September. Guests who present a valid student or college ID at the gate on any weekend in September, including Labor Day, will receive admission for $29.99 plus tax per person. This promotional rate is also extended to accompanying family members, allowing everyone to enjoy a day at the waterpark at a reduced cost.
What's new at the park this year?
While we don’t have a major new slide or attraction this year, we’ve made several important behind-the-scenes improvements that enhance the overall guest experience. These include upgrades to restrooms and concessions, infrastructure enhancements, new digital signage throughout the park, and other operational improvements.
You guys always partner with some great charities. How do you decide your partnerships?
We typically partner with organizations that have a strong track record of making a meaningful impact in the Middle Tennessee community. These groups have a long history of helping large numbers of people and driving positive change. Past partners have included organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank and Toys for Tots.
Tell us about the Pooch Pool Party in September.
The Pooch Pool Party is a beloved annual event held on a Saturday in September, where dogs take over the waterpark for a day of tail-wagging fun. A portion of all ticket sales is donated to New Leash on Life.
Pet owners are invited to bring their furry friends to Nashville Shores for a dog-only swim day. The staff lovingly call it a day of canine chaos! During the event, the wave pool, lazy river, and Kowabunga Splash Pad are open exclusively for canine guests. In addition to the splash zones, the party features pet-friendly vendors, a doggy fetch area, and a K9 cooling station to help pups stay refreshed. This is a dogs-only swim day, and humans are not permitted in the water!
Any big future plans for Nashville Shores?
Nashville Shores is in the midst of a significant transformation, evolving from a local waterpark into a regional destination. The property now features a wide range of attractions, including a waterpark, ziplines, a ropes course, an RV campground, lakeside cabins, a marina, boat rentals, and more. Situated on nearly 400 acres along Percy Priest Lake, the resort has developed only about 45 acres to date, leaving substantial room for future growth. Plans are underway to invest in all aspects of the property, with continued expansion and enhancement of the waterpark, lodging, marina, and other amenities.
In addition to building on existing features, Nashville Shores is also exploring new entertainment options aimed at attracting a broader audience. The long-term goal is to establish the property as a world-class, family-oriented destination that draws visitors from across the region and beyond.
