Mayor's Message

Have You Connected With Frisco's New Micro Library At Stonebriar Centre?

Frisco Public Library's newly opened micro library, called CONNECTION, is tucked behind the Stonebriar Centre carousel but it's out-front in its offerings, convenience and benefits to young readers and their families. Next to Hyatt Regency Frisco within a dedicated 3,000 square feet, CONNECTION offers guests free Wi-Fi, public computers, book locker hold pickup and returns, and a collection of books for children and teens.

"We have the best library team in the country," proclaims Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney. "Stonebriar has been here for 20 years. It's these types of projects that will make Stonebriar sustainable for another 20 years."

Book genres for checkout include beginning readers; picture books; kids fiction; kids graphic novels; kids mystery/suspense; kids science fiction/fantasy; kids nonfiction; teen fiction; teen graphic novels; teen mystery/suspense; teen science fiction/fantasy.

"We moved into the best space ever," agrees Shelley Holley, Frisco Public Library director.

Shelley says via their book locker approach, an online hold can be placed on books and DVDs with the pick-up at CONNECTION. "We'll let you know when your items are ready from the book locker, available during mall hours," she adds.

"There are a lot of libraries that want mall locations, but we got the best deal," says Jennifer Cummings, Frisco Public Library youth services manager, referring to the Moon family of the Sam Moon Group, who's donating the new library space, with the city paying only $1 per year for rent.

CONNECTION Library Hours:  Mondays CLOSED // Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays:  Noon to 8 p.m. // Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.// Sundays 1 pm. to 6 p.m.
