Meet Realtor Dave Marcolla

Ever meet someone and just immediately get the sense this is someone you can trust and want to be around? Well that’s what people often say when meeting Dave Marcolla. Dave’s only been in the real estate business two years but you’d never guess it by talking to his clients or checking out his numbers. After nearly two decades in national sales and marketing leadership roles at Fortune 50 companies, he decided it was time to lose the corporate 9 to 5 and work for himself.

With bachelors and masters degrees in marketing, Dave knew he would pursue something in the sales realm. As he spent some time over a winter holiday break brainstorming, Dave decided it should involve dogs, consulting/helping others or historic properties...his true passions. He also knew he wanted to do something differently, better than others he met doing this type of work in the past. Dave ultimately landed on real estate and decided his fitting tagline would be “Expect Better.”

His business launched around the idea that you should have an amazing, hassle-free experience when buying or selling your home and focus on what you do best...everything else!

The spring market is off and running, but the current state of affairs with the COVID 19 pandemic have reduced activity dramatically, rightfully so. Dave is leveraging his down time to focus on community. As a board member of the Newtown Business Association, Dave recently developed and launched a virtual workshop series for their 300+ members where daily they can learn tips and tricks from the peer members via "Coaches on Couches with Coffee."

Last year Dave created and Chaired the organizations new Emerging Leaders Committee for young professionals. Dave’s also spending time helping Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia find ways to help those touched by cancer in our area, get the services and support they need during this tough time at no cost to them. As Vice Chairman of the Board at CSCGP, Dave’s primary focus is marketing and creating awareness for the organization’s much needed services. Dave began his volunteer work with the organization 18 years ago and has served as their Gala Chair, Young Professionals Board Chair and in numerous other ways over the years. Having lost multiple family members to cancer, Dave is committed to making sure those touched by it have the support they need.

Dave often tells his clients...”just relax...stay calm...have some wine...we'll get through this!” He always gets his clients laughing as well. “No one needs added stress from something as commonplace as buying or selling a home and it shouldn't come anywhere close to the levels of stress I was under in my past positions at TD Bank, AT&T and Comcast.” Dave says. “So I think most clients would say I remove the drama and worry from the transaction,” he states. Dave’s goal is to build lifelong relationships and friends of his clients...to which he laughs and says, “so far good!

In his first year, Dave did $3 million  in sales and 11 transactions. His second year Dave completed 26 transactions and $11 million in sales and was named 1st Runner Up for Best Real Estate Agent in Bucks County by readers of Happenings Magazine. When asked why he thinks he’s been so successful so quickly, Dave responded, “I think it's two-fold. First, I'm new to the business...I'm not tired or "over it" as some of the life-long realtors I meet often say in confidence. Energy and a positive can-do attitude is critical in this business. And second, having a background and education in marketing helps me to look at a home I'm selling as a product. I can get creative and find new exciting ways to make it stand out leveraging things I've done in a past life to sell products like the first ever iPhone or launching Xfinity Mobile at Comcast.”

Dave grew up in a family that didn't have much with a mother that worked two jobs and a father that worked the nightshift. He was the first in his family to go to college. He knows what it means to work hard and be stressed about making ends meet. As a realtor, Dave states, “I keep those days in the forefront of my mind and do everything I can to help others get through those times and or avoid them. It feels great to be able to impact lives and pay it forward for all those that helped me get where I am today.”
