Tucked in an unassuming corner of Creve Coeur lies a true gem called RP Exotics. Bringing a strategic approach to selling luxury and exotic vehicles, the partnership duo and the story behind RP Exotics is just as inspiring as the plum full garage found there.

Together, partners in luxury auto sales, Parker Gelber and Alex Long, are taking the St. Louis high-end car market by storm, sometimes selling up to three cars a morning. At 21 years old, Parker's built RP with the help of his business partner, Alex, a seasoned sales expert, and they’re busier than ever.

Parker started at another luxury dealership in town at just 15 years old, cleaning cars as an intern. He quickly grew into an entrepreneur, consigning cars on the side and buying and selling parts on eBay. With a vision for something bigger and a fearless approach to going after his dream, he says he took off on his own and never looked back.

RP’s unique approach to luxury car sales, which they’ve coined “Prosignment,” offers sellers a chance to offload a car from their collection -- all with the top-notch service and expertise of RP's team. Just like real estate, Parker and his team act as agents in buying and selling the vehicles they represent, allowing for flexibility and the ability to work nationwide. By selling cars privately within their network of collectors, buyers get more in their pocket (to the tune of $10,000 to $20,000 more than a dealer), and they make some friends along the way.

Greeted by an adorable French bulldog named Cash, the hospitable nature of the garage and the passion for business within the walls makes it a downright fun place to visit. There's even a stocked bar on-site. They’re not all talk; the space is full and Alex mentioned needing more space soon.

Aside from the typical “getting to know you” conversation, the chat shifted to fashion: an aspect of car sales that can’t be left out. "Luxury cars parallel a lot with fashion trends," explains Parker. "Cars are an extension of every individual’s style and personality, especially when it comes to Lamborghinis and McLarens."

He says clients often seek out RP looking for a very particular car, sometimes even matching it to their wardrobe. "The client's car might not feel fresh anymore and they’re ready to trade up to fit with the latest trends on the road," he adds.

Just like the runway, the auto landscape is always shifting in new styles, and a savvy collector always keeps their finger on the pulse of it.

“It started with weaseling my way into an internship. At 15, I spent my time cleaning floors and wiping down cars at a luxury dealership for $8/hour. But it gave me the opportunity to watch and learn, working my way into a sales position by 16.”

FINISH TRENDS

Matte Finishes:

Shimmer and shine are out, and flat matte is in. A smooth, hazy finish stands out.

STYLE TRENDS

SUVs vs. Cars:

More space is in high demand, so you’re not alone if you want to take your crew for a ride versus just your partner.

COLOR TRENDS

Neutral Colors:

Yellow, red and orange are rare on St. Louis streets. Colors such as black, gray and white are more frequently sold at RP.
