Meet Shona Tsoumalis, DVM

She Joined Pet Village of Brentwood As Associate Veterinarian

Shona Tsoumalis, DVM, recently joined the full-service pet group at Pet Village of Brentwood, which provides veterinary care, pet boarding, doggy daycare and grooming.

Dr. Tsoumalis grew up in Scotland and graduated from the University of Glasgow with her bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (BVMS) in 2016. After graduation, she spent time working in small animal practices in England and Northern Virginia, before relocating to the Nashville area and joining the Pet Village of Brentwood team in September.

She says her veterinary interests include internal medicine, dentistry, pain management and senior patient care.

"We relocated to the Nashville area from Virginia for my husband's job, but we've fallen in love with the city and all the great food and entertainment that Nashville has to offer," Dr. Tsoumalis says. "I love practicing in Nashville because you can truly tell how much people care for their pets and want to do right by them. I'm so excited to have joined the team at Pet Village of Brentwood, and I'm looking forward to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for my clients and their pets."

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking and going out to new restaurants. Dr. Tsoumalis lives with her husband, Tony, and their two rescue pets – a sweet foxhound mix named Grant, and their very affectionate diabetic kitty named Billie, who relocated with them from England.

Dr. Tsoumalis joins fellow veterinarian Joanna Walsh, DVM, who also co-owns the Pet Village business. To tour Pet Village's newly renovated building, contact Sara Peeples, co-owner and business manager.
