Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started as an artist.
I always felt that as soon as I was able to hold a crayon at a young age, I immediately enjoyed creating art. That love has continued. Art brings a balance to my life and helps me express my emotions.
How would you describe your style of art?
I am a contemporary abstract artist. My paintings are associated with a bold color field. I tend to paint on larger canvasses with colors giving a creative energy in which the painting can dance in every room and give movement.
Who are some of your favorite artists? Who do you gain artistic inspiration from?
Honestly, I love all artists. Some of my favorites are Henri Matisse, Helen Frankenthaler and Richard Diebenkorn. I could go on and on with famous artists. I do have pieces of artwork on display in my own home from local artists Babe Atha, Lou Marack and David Gross.
What is your favorite subject matter to paint?
I enjoy painting mostly figurative and balanced forms outside in nature, rock formations, landscapes, seascapes, animals and everything else.
How has art enriched your life?
Art nurtures my creative spirit and makes for a more beautiful place in my life.
