Spotlight on Allen's Oldest Mexican Restaurant

Mexi-Go: A Family Legacy of Flavor and Tradition

Mexi-Go Restaurant, a cherished family-owned establishment, has been serving the Allen, TX community since 1998. When you dine with them, you’re family. They take pride in their unique family recipes and freshly prepared cocktails, crafted daily by their dedicated staff.

The journey of Mexi-Go Restaurant began at an ice cream shop on the corner of Arapaho and Coit in Dallas, TX. Jose, a regular customer, learned that the owners were retiring and closing the shop. Recognizing Jose's potential, they offered him a life-changing opportunity to transform the shop into his own restaurant. With their support, Mexi-Go Restaurant opened its first location on November 15, 1990, starting with just seven tables.

Facing initial challenges, Jose’s determination and community spirit paid off. He personally distributed menus to nearby businesses, drawing in customers with his delicious food and excellent service. Mexi-Go quickly gained a loyal following.

Originally envisioned as a taqueria-style to-go spot, the demand for quality food and exceptional service led to its expansion into full-service dining. Today, Jose, Paula, and their family continue to uphold their cherished family recipes and the rich traditions of Mexican cuisine.

As they celebrate over 28 years in the Dallas metroplex, they would like to thank their local community for their unwavering support and invite new customers to experience the love and flavor that define Mexi-Go Restaurant.
