Mikel Kristi - Natural and Effective Beauty Practices

Products rich in natural ingredients assist in giving your skin a gentle glow and effective overall care.  Founder of Mikel Kristi Skincare, Christy Hall began her line with these ideals in mind. Her focus was on restoring skin's natural health and function, using plant-based ingredients that really work. Purity, sustainability and potency were key.

"When choosing products to recommend to clients, I became frustrated by the lack of potent, yet gentle skincare formulations. I saw a need to make professionally developed skincare available for everyone. Collaborating with industry experts, I began crafting the Mikel Kristi skincare line. A big thing I like to share is that everyone has the same skin function, so instead of focusing on a 'skin type' we'd be better off addressing the under-the-skin changes we face with aging and our skin's environment. At Mikel Kristi we don't believe in "skin types" because our skin changes so frequently based on the environmental changes we put it through: sun UV damage/exposure, varying climates, stress, our diet, and pollution/toxins found in household products. We do believe in 'skin conditions' where our skin faces varying conditions as we undergo epidermis changes. Our mission at Mikel Kristi is to empower you to feel your most confident and beautiful. Our products are Leaping Bunny Certified, ethically sourced, clinically validated, and fragrance-free," Hall said.

Three Natural Skincare Practices Per Mikel Kristi Skincare:

1. Exfoliate/Cleanse your skin. One important thing people may not know about the skin’s natural cycle is that dry skin is caused not only by dehydration of the skin, but also by dead skin build up on the surface of the skin. Hall encourages natural exfoliation instead of continued moisturizing. Exfoliation will help the skin produce and retain moisture naturally.

Product of choice: Mikel Kristi Refreshing Botanical Wash was inspired by the heat of the Arizona desert. It’s a daily facial cleanser that refreshes, calms, cools, and gently exfoliates as it draws out and sweeps away impurities.

2. Protect your skin. Vitamin C protects against the environmental stressors that your skin faces daily. Stressors can be sun exposure, toxins found in everyday products, unhealthy diets, and overall mental health. We want to calm our body internally and externally to produce radiant looking skin. When Vitamin C is applied, the lightweight formula easily sinks into the skin, delivering visible anti-aging benefits while enhancing skin health and radiance. This defender nurtures and helps fortify the skin to be more resilient than ever.

Product of choice: Along with a sunscreen that contains Zinc Oxide, consider EltaMD UV Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 with a light tint for a bit of coverage.

3.  Look for clean ingredients. Make sure you’re selecting beauty products with an eye for high-quality, effective ingredients. Ingredients need to be able to penetrate, alter, and improve the function of the skin to enhance collagen production, exfoliation, hydration, and protection. These types of products are considered cosmeceuticals and not typically found over the counter at your local pharmacy or department store. Look for product companies, like Mikel Kristi, that care about sustainability and safe ingredients that help and not harm you or the environment.
