With Summer still here but many travel plans wrapped up, a weekend up your closest canyon might just be the perfect getaway! A few last days of summer fun with the family is easily facilitated with a 10-minute drive up Millcreek Canyon. For three weekends in August, Millcreek’s Venture Out! will host Camp Tracy Adventure Weekends. Hosted by Millcreek, guests young and old are invited to this historic Scout camp for the weekend, or simply for the day. Demonstrations, hands-on activities, and quintessential camp activities like shooting sports, fishing, and others are available each day.

Interested in a camping experience without the hassle of finding a site? Campsites at Camp Tracy can accommodate up to six people with space for one tent and an additional tent for storage and food preparation. You can request to camp near other family, friends, or neighbors who are also registered. Each campsite includes a picnic table so you can cook your own meals outdoors. If camping isn’t your style, rustic bunk cabins for up to 12 people are available too. Your reservation includes a mattress, but bring your own sleeping bag!

If your family needs a little more flexibility before the start of school, consider day passes. Just $10 per person, days passes let you reserve special experiences including the shooting range, ropes course, fishing, ax throwing, and a special camp service project.

Family Talent Show & Fire Building Contest

On the first night of every weekend, gather the whole crew for a night of laughter and connection. Then put your family’s wilderness know-how to the test in this friendly competition of fire-building basics.

Archery

Beginners and budding sharpshooters are welcome! Learn the basics from safety, stance, and shooting techniques and enjoy some friendly target practice. Parents, teens, and kids can all participate.

Fishing

Slow down with a classic day of fishing on Camp Tracy Lake. Whether you're a first-time fisher or a seasoned angler, this is your chance to enjoy the simple joy of casting a line. No fishing license required to participate.

Ropes Course

Families and friends can take on the exciting challenges of the ropes course in a safe, supervised environment. The course includes zip lines, climbing walls, rope bridges, and balance challenges.

Camp Tracy Adventure Weekends are held rain or shine August 8-10, August 15-17, and over Labor Day weekend, August 29-September 1. Campsites and cabins will sell out! Book your Camp Tracy Weekend Adventure at https://ventureout.org/camp
