Mojo Cuban Restaurant and Rum Bar

Where cuisine and music collide for one lively Cuban eating experience

Mojo Cuban Restaurant and Rum Bar is the delicious byproduct of a most fruitful partnership. Local restaurateurs Nick and Alison Schaffer have a strong love and passion for Cuban food. Along with decorated Tucson chef Janet Balderas and native Cuban sous chef Patricia Espinosa, the team works together to share their love of the cuisine with everyone that walks through their doors.

This Cuban restaurant features all the island classics. Sample the Ropa Vieja, a shredded beef stew, or the most iconic sandwich on the menu, the Cubano. Mojo has perfected the ratio of bread, meat, and cheese, meeting all the requirements of a delicious sandwich. Toasted, filled with the right ingredients, and cut perfectly in half, the Cubano is a must-try.

If you have a sweet tooth, the “Pastelitos” demand sampling. The flaky pastries are stuffed with guava and cream cheese. Simply irresistible!

Mojo’s cocktail menu is the perfect way to sample a taste of Cuba. Sip on El Floridita, a Hemingway Martini made of rum, maraschino, grapefruit, and lime, or drink to Havana’s famed Hotel Nacional with a cocktail made of rum, apricot liquor, pineapple, and lime.

The service is authentically Latin—warm, cheerful, welcoming and -- at times -- even affectionate. The “ventanita” also serves breakfast items to go, as long as you order before 11am.
