As the creative force behind Dolly Studios, Cait has built a business that blends interior styling, personal styling, and commissioned artwork into one philosophy: helping people create lives that feel as good as they look. For Cait, luxury has little to do with price tags.
"It's waking up every day surrounded by pieces that support the life you're building and remind you who you are," she says. "The world spends a lot of time telling us who we should be. Design gives us the opportunity to take ownership of that narrative."
That belief shapes every client relationship. Whether she's refreshing a closet or redesigning a home, the questions remain the same. "What inspires you? How do you spend your time? What do you want more of in your life?" Cait asks. "When we answer those questions honestly, beautiful design naturally follows."
Rather than focusing on what a client wants a room or wardrobe to look like, she begins somewhere deeper. "I ask people how they want to feel," she says. "Maybe they want to feel calm after a stressful workday, more confident, more creative, or more playful. That emotional answer becomes our roadmap."
It is a refreshing perspective in a world that can be driven by trends and endless scrolling. "Style is one of the most personal forms of self-care," Cait says. "As we move through careers, parenthood, relationships, and life's many seasons, it's easy to lose ourselves in all the roles we play. Style quietly reminds us that underneath every title, we're still individuals who deserve to feel confident, beautiful, and at home in our own lives."
She believes that many people have simply accepted living with closets full of clothes they never wear or homes that no longer reflect who they are. "I don't think that's just a wardrobe problem," she says. "I think it's a confidence problem." Instead of encouraging clients to buy more, Cait often encourages them to buy less.
"My goal isn't to help someone own more," she says. "It's to help them love what they already have and thoughtfully build from there." That philosophy extends beyond fashion and into every room she designs. She sees personality in everything from lighting and artwork to fabrics and furniture. "I think every design element has a personality," Cait says. "Confidence might look like a sculptural light fixture or an oversized piece of artwork. Comfort is warm lighting and furniture that makes you never want to leave. Calm is thoughtful simplicity and giving your eyes room to rest."
Original artwork has become one of the most meaningful parts of her work. When creating commissioned paintings, she doesn't begin with matching colors to a sofa. "I ask, 'How do you want to feel every time you look at it?'" she says. "That answer guides everything."
Cait's playful personality is woven throughout Dolly Studios. She affectionately refers to her interior projects as her "dollhouses" and her styling clients as her "dolls," a nickname that feels perfectly fitting for someone who spent childhood rearranging bedrooms and dressing Barbies for hours.
"I take my work incredibly seriously," she says, "but I also believe creativity should be joyful." Her advice for anyone feeling overwhelmed by decorating or fashion choices is surprisingly simple. "Start by removing something," she says. "Declutter one surface. Donate five pieces of clothing you never reach for. Sometimes clarity doesn't come from adding more. It comes from editing well."
While she enjoys incorporating trends, Cait believes timeless style always begins with a strong foundation. "I like to think of timeless pieces as the foundation and trends as the accessories," she says. "The finishing touches get to have a little more fun."
For Cait, the greatest reward isn't revealing a finished room or a perfectly curated closet. It's watching clients discover a new level of confidence. "I've watched clients stand a little taller, start hosting friends again because they finally love their home, apply for promotions, or simply smile when they open their closet in the morning," she says. "Those moments remind me this work has never really been about clothes or furniture. It's about creating ways to truly enjoy our lives."
If there's one message she hopes people carry with them, it's that creating beauty isn't about perfection. It's about permission. "I hope people stop thinking beauty is superficial," Cait says. "Whether it's wearing the bold blazer, buying the artwork, or finally hosting the dinner party, I hope people realize they're worthy of creating a life that feels beautiful. The most luxurious thing you'll ever own isn't just hanging in your closet or sitting in your living room. It's the confidence to create a life that genuinely feels incredible."
