Tips for Moving in 2022! 

Set realistic goals, shoot to move at least three days a week and if you squeeze more in, then that’s a win!! If you're looking for the best place to start, walking is the absolute best! It’s weight-bearing and if walking fast enough will get your heart rate up!! 

Grab a partner! Working out with a bestie is just so much more fun! Fostering relationships while moving your body is really the perfect recipe! Accountability is also a pretty strong motivator! We know we all do better when someone is counting on us to show up! Share your goals and wins along the way! 

My last bit of advice is to give yourself a little grace! We’ve all taken time away from exercise and movement at different points in our lives. Sometimes it’s longer than we like, but that’s ok! Know that results don’t happen overnight so just start with the first two weeks. I tell clients the first two weeks are the hardest ... know that, commit to it and don’t give up! You just need a little grit, a little focus, and one friend or partner in your corner cheering you on!! Truthfully that’s why group fitness will always be a “thing” because we need community and movement and those two things together are a pretty powerful combo! 

I spent the last two decades working in public health and traveling fifty percent of the time. I realized it was time for me to combine the things I loved most and start investing in my own community so mōtiv fitness was born!! It’s been a wild ride but I’ve loved every second and feel so blessed to get to do what I love and hopefully bless others through that!
