If you walk into Jazzercise Southlake, you feel it before you even step onto the dance floor. Music fills the room, laughter bounces off the walls, and the energy is contagious. It’s not just a workout: it’s a celebration. A celebration of you, being you.Exactly who you are, no restrictions and no requirements. Just a place you can unwind and be yourself. At the heart of it all is owner Taniqua “Tani” Richards, whose warmth and positivity have transformed the studio into a space where confidence, connection, and community move together in rhythm.
“Our vibe, our team, the energy we bring to every class is unmatched,” Tani says with a smile. “And we can’t forget free childcare. Not many studios offer that. Parents can focus on themselves for an hour knowing their kids are close and cared for.”
That sense of welcome has become the heartbeat of Jazzercise Southlake. It’s more than a fitness studio; it’s a family. As the holidays wind down and the new year begins, it’s the perfect reminder that self-care doesn’t need to wait for a resolution. It starts right now—with joy, movement, and community. Every class becomes a chance to reset, refocus, and rediscover how strong you already are.
Jazzercise may be the original dance fitness program, but inside Tani’s studio it feels brand new: fresh, modern, and full of life. Each class blends dance, strength training, yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing into what she calls “your hour of power.” “It’s never boring,” she laughs. “You forget you’re working out because you’re grooving to your favorite songs and letting go of the day.”
Tani’s story mirrors the women she now inspires. “I found Jazzercise because I was bored with my old workout,” she recalls. “Then I met Adrienne Menichini, the ‘Queen of Sass’and former owner. She showed me how powerful it is to lead with joy, and I’ve carried that forward ever since.”
Today, Tani leads a team of women who share that same spark: moms, teachers, students, and professionals who pour their hearts into every class. “We love what we do, and our members can feel that,” she says. “There’s no judgment, no competition, just encouragement and laughter.” The energy between instructor and member is what makes each class feel like a reunion of friends rather than a workout.
The physical benefits are obvious—stronger muscles, better endurance—but the deeper impact happens in spirit. “You walk out feeling lighter,” Tani says. “It’s not just about calories or reps. It’s about confidence, joy, and the reminder that you can do hard things and have fun doing them.”
After more than five decades of Jazzercise history, the brand continues to evolve, and so does the Southlake studio. New programs like Vital Sculpt HIIT and Elevate keep things fresh. “Vital Sculpt HIIT blends sculpting, cardio, and functional movement for strength and hormone health,” Tani explains. “Elevate focuses on posture and form to help you move better and feel stronger.”
Giving back is also part of the rhythm. Jazzercise Southlake partners with Meals on Wheels, Kindness Moves, and The Gifting Project, and honors breast cancer survivors each October during its annual Pink Out class. They support local schools, cheer programs, and community events like Art in the Square and Oktoberfest. “We’re always looking for ways to give back,” Tani says. “Movement changes people, it builds happiness, confidence, and kindness that spread far beyond these walls.”
As the new year unfolds, Tani’s hope is simple: to keep growing this community, welcoming new faces, and inspiring every person who walks through the door. Because at Jazzercise Southlake, fitness isn’t about perfection or comparison—it’s about joy, friendship, and the freedom to show up exactly as you are.
You don’t have to be a dancer to belong here. You just have to be ready to move, smile, and rediscover how good it feels to find your rhythm again.
