Movie Night at Home

Reliving Old Favorites in the Comfort of Home

Nothing beats a good movie night. It is a time in which we can forget about the drudgeries of everyday life and escape to far away times and settings of our dreams.

While it is always a treat to enjoy the latest movies in a cinema setting, there is something very special about rewatching old favorites in the comfort of your own home.

Recently, Hendersonville Lifestyle asked retired teacher and community volunteer Debbie Murray to share three favorite movies that loves to revisit. Without hesitation, she recommended Braveheart, Gone With The Wind and Rudy.

“Although these movies span different genres and generations, they all share some common traits,” says Debbie.

  • The primary characters are people the viewer becomes involved with – strong, resilient and determined to overcome their struggles.
  • The storylines are well-developed, and they involve settings and situations that present drama, adventure and a wide range of emotions.
  • The settings feature breath-taking scenery that is sometimes familiar and at other times beyond imagination.
  • The visual elements are supplemented by musical scores that add intensity and empathy to the scenes.
