Play it Cool for the Dog Days of Summer

The Woodlands guide to the best summer spots to enjoy with your pet

With summer at its peak, it can be quite the challenge to entertain your pooch. But we’ve got you covered with 5 cool activities to enjoy with your furry friends around The Woodlands.
1) Go an Art Bench Scavenger Hunt with your Pup
Start your day bright and early with a walk and Art Bench Scavenger Hunt along The Woodlands Waterway. Created by The Woodlands Arts Council, the art bench hunt is a great pet-friendly activity to enjoy the over 20 unique Art Benches along The Waterway! Visit the thewoodlandsartscouncil.org for the map and clues.
2) Hike the dog-friendly Spring Creek Nature Trail
With over 13 miles of natural-surface and mostly tree covered pathways, the Spring Creek Nature trail is a great outdoor summer pet friendly activity. Built largely by community volunteers, this meandering trail follows Spring Creek. Dogs must be on a leash and the hike is accessible from four trailheads around The Woodlands.
3) Take a dip with your dog at Rummy’s Beach Club
This one-acre dog park offers a unique experience, complete with a Dog Mountain, where dogs can enjoy digging and a custom-built, heated private pool with a state-of-the-art cleaning and disinfecting system. Started by retired Physician Assistant Lisa Goebel, who has been involved in dog rescue most of her life, Rummy’s beach club also works with dogs that have behavioral issues as well as teaches dogs how to swim. Each party gets the entire facility to themselves and is allowed up to 3 dogs and 3 people age 16 and older.
4) Pamper your pooch at Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming
Located in Creekside Park Woof Gang Bakery is the perfect spot to spoil your pet. On visiting, you are likely to be greeted by The Woodlands resident and Woof Gang owner Kelly Ross who is committed to the well-being, health, and happiness of pets. This luxury pet boutique carries high quality products, all-natural food, oven-baked dog treats and cakes perfect to order for your dog’s next birthday. Not only do they have full-service grooming options but also self-service wash stations. They even offer local delivery, non-anesthetic dental days, and nutritional counseling with the goal of empowering animal owners to provide their pets with a high-quality diet over the course of each period of life.
5) Treat your pet to a pup cup at Lovebeans Coffeehouse
The next time you are out and about with your pet and craving some coffee, head to Lovebeans Coffeehouse for a double treat. Born out of owner and longtime resident of The Woodlands, Beth Ferrester's love for her community, Lovebeans Coffeehouse not only serves up iced coffee flights and delicious snacks but also pup cups for your furry friend. Pup cups are filled with low sugar whipped cream that your dog is sure to enjoy. Lovebeans is a giving back coffeehouse, which means each month they select a nonprofit organization and host a pet-friendly outdoor market along with local artisan vendors to raise awareness about the nonprofit. All proceeds from their branded merchandise also goes back to the nonprofit and into the community.

Hope you enjoy these pet-friendly experiences around town this summer.
