Nailing It Mammoth Roofing and Solar · Boerne, TX

Mammoth Roofing & Solar’s Scott Edwards shares his top-tier Bloody Maria recipe, stacked with heavy-duty flavor and a Texas-sized punch.

Ingredients

3 parts Clamato

1 part El Tequileño Tequila

Juice of ½ lemon

2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

2 shakes celery salt, or to taste

2–3 dashes Tabasco, or to taste

Splash of Vlasic Zesty Dill pickle juice

Splash of Topo Chico

The Mammoth Garnish

1 celery stalk

1 Vlasic Zesty Dill pickle spear

2 Talk O’ Texas Crisp Hot Okra Pickles

From Yancey’s Fancy Artisan Cheese Sampler, use one piece of:

Horseradish Cheddar

Buffalo Wing Hot Sauce Cheddar

Smoked Gouda

Sharp Cheddar

4–6 slices pepperoni

Directions

  1. In a glass with ice, combine Clamato, tequila, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, Tabasco, and pickle juice. Stir well.
  2. Top with Topo Chico.
  3. Onto a cocktail skewer, spear cheese and pepperoni.
  4. Load the glass with the celery, pickle, two hot okras, and the full skewer.

*Pro Tips*

  • The lemon brightens the entire drink and gives it a fresher flavor than lime. Combined with the tequila, it's a big part of what makes this taste different from a traditional Bloody Mary.
  • The carbonation of Topo Chico mellows everything out and keeps the drink smooth and easy to drink.
  • Start easy with the Worcestershire and celery salt. Add more to taste, but if your Bloody Maria starts looking brown, you've overdone it.
  • Don't skimp on the finishing touches. Whether you're building a roof or a Bloody Maria, the difference between “good enough” and "nailing it" is in the details.
