Premiere Stone Importer Anchors Vast, Local Supply Of Tiles And Slabs For Home Remodeling

With the fast-approaching holiday season, it's a great time to select materials for kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Imagine how it would feel to have those stylish materials coming straight from Italy par excellence.

Professionals with Verona Marble Company at The Colony work with homeowners, designers, fabricators, contractors and installers regarding granite, marble, quartzite and Santamargherita Italian quartz for residential and commercial countertops, floors and walls. The company is known for their materials' durability, range of colors and affordability.

"We have a 9,600 square-foot, comfortable showroom where customers can hand-select choices. We were the first company in Texas to provide an indoor, climate-controlled facility for viewing slabs, and remain the only company in the state to offer this luxury," says Paul Lundberg, Verona Marble general manager.

Verona Marble is an importer and distributor of natural stone and engineered stone tiles and slabs. With industry experience beginning in 1985, Paul says the company is owned by Santamargherita S.P.A., a premier engineered quartz production company in Verona, Italy.

He says most of their marble and quartz originates in Italy, the granite from Brazil and India, and some quartz comes from South Korea.

"Selections for about the last decade have been trending toward quartz, for both residential and commercial," says Paul. "Architects and designers like to specify quartz due to improved designs and every slab's consistent look because it's produced in a controlled environment. And quartz doesn't have to be sealed."

Color trends continue to be in the white and light gray tones, Paul verifies. "However, what's recently been popular are materials with light brown veining and cream or white backgrounds.”

Paul says Verona Marble team members are happy to walk customers through the steps of learning the differences between materials; looking at and comparing options; making a list of preferences; recommending fabricators or contractors from among the 200-plus with whom they work; and describing what to expect from fabricators and installers.

"It's important for homeowners to know they need to be able to reconnect their plumbing after installations, or to secure a plumber to do so," Paul adds.

He says they've been busy assisting homeowners and contractors with fixing internal damage caused by this year's winter storm and freezing temperatures.

Terri Marchefski, Verona Marble showroom manager, says customers appreciate how well-organized, safe and super-clean their showroom is. "We have the high-end materials, in more than a hundred colors, that designers love bringing their clients to see. It's an enjoyable, accommodating customer service atmosphere," she adds.

As a former design consultant for a home builder, Terri says she's more than pleased to assist customers with color selections.
