How do you serve your local community?
Our luxury outerwear manufacturer has been in business since 1960. The company was started by my father and is now run by myself and my sister, Joan Nathenas. We are one of the remaining factories in NYC that can make furs by hand using the same craftsmanship used for generations. We excel in making bespoke furs, custom shearlings, luxury outerwear, and accessories. Bridal has become a niche for us—making stoles and wraps. Besides the quality of our merchandise, customer service is the most important thing to us! We service customers with offerings like cold storage, fur/shearling cleanings, repairs/alterations, and restyling of furs. As a family-owned brand, we are invested in giving back. Since opening our boutique in Greenwich, we have been very involved with local organizations like the Red Cross, Bruce Museum, BCA, YMCA, and YWCA. This year we’ll also support the Greenwich Historical Society at the holiday show.
What do you love about working in Greenwich?
In 2020 we opened up our boutique on Lewis St with the good advice from my friend Aerin Lauder and it’s been a great experience. The customers are a family to the brand, the neighboring local businesses are supportive too. Overall outstanding community and we’re fortunate to be here.
What is your favorite hidden gem in town?
Our neighbors at Orienta and Le Penguin are favorites of mine. I love grabbing lunch there or cocktails after work. Great food and atmosphere!
What is your favorite piece of advice or favorite quote?
We have worked with Micheal Kors for many years and something he once said has stuck with me. Every woman should invest in a good coat – a good coat can cover up a very basic outfit, instantly making her look chic and put together.
