Not A Spring Fling

Learn How To Use Entire Wardrobe All Year Long

Spring is one of those times of year where you want new items in your closet. The list of events, parties, trips and fun must-dos are seemingly endless. While it’s fun to emerge from the winter weather and add some pop to your wardrobe, it can be overwhelming.

Enter Carson Love. She’s a wardrobe and personal stylist whose goal is to help both genders present and feel like their best selves so they're ready for whatever life brings them. She customizes the process with each client to create “closet clarity" and newfound confidence. When she’s not working one-on-one with clients, she also styles photo shoots and will happily present to organizations or clubs.

Here are three, everyday events styled by Carson using items already in most closets.

Running Around Town

It can be daunting to determine which new dresses should earn spots in closets. “I always try to help my clients choose items that won’t just be worn to one event and never seen again," says Carson.

She has an easy tip for finding this versatility when buying a dress:  Ask yourself how many different shoes you could wear with it. Can you wear it with sneakers for errands during the day? Boots or booties in the fall? Dressed up with heels or wedges? Keep in mind what you already have in your closet that can add versatility.

Elevate Date Night

One of Carson’s favorite styling tips is remembering to add the “third piece” -- that “final touch that brings a base outfit together.” A third piece can be a lightweight jacket, piece of jewelry, scarf, statement clutch or something that's uniquely you. The concept is a simple shirt/skirt combo is made to feel a bit more polished and regal, perfect for date night.

Girl’s Night Out

One of Carson’s top goals is making sure clients are “getting the most out of their entire wardrobe.” People often will put pieces into categories, then never wear them outside of that. For example, “This is my work blazer; I just wear it to the office with slacks.” Take time to reevaluate those assignments given to pieces. Like this look? Why not try pairing that blazer with a graphic tee and your favorite jeans for a cute concert look or an easy girl’s night out ensemble?
