As a native of Arvada, Dalton Addison serves the community he loves and knows well. Following high school graduation, Addison served four years in the U.S. Navy, attended college, and then served as a 911 dispatcher in Jefferson County. His daily interactions with residents and first responders cultivated his passion for connecting with his community and put his people and professional skills to important use.

A few years ago, Addison added a new way to blend his skillset: as a Broker Associate with RE/MAX Alliance Arvada. His transition into real estate allows for more time with his growing family while still maintaining the ability to actively serve the community. “I knew that as a realtor, I could still help people, which is really what I want to do,” he explained. “It’s helping people on a happier level than being a dispatcher because when people have to call 911, it is because they’re having a bad day. Now, I’m making their dreams come true.”

Because each real estate transaction is unique, Addison relies on his problem solving and communication skills and has created a network of support that caters to each client. “I love working with all different kinds of people, whether it be my clients or other agents,” he said. “In real estate, every day is different, and you have to think outside the box to make all the moving parts work together.”

Addison’s previous experiences are now also serendipitously integrated through a national real estate program called Homes for Heroes, which is a perfect fit. “After a quick 20-minute conversation, I was hooked. My wife is a nurse and I’m a veteran and former dispatcher, so I know what these people go through day in and day out and what they get paid,” he shared. “I just really want to give back to them as much as I can and this program provides a great opportunity to do that.”

Homes for Heroes serves U.S. military, teachers, healthcare workers, and first responders including fire, police, EMS and dispatchers. It assists in buying, selling, or refinancing homes by providing a .7%, or $700 on every $100,000, rebate on the sale, purchase, or refinance amount. Since its inception, the program has helped over 65,000 heroes for a total of $127 million in savings. “Because this is a nationwide program, I can not only help people here in Colorado, but I can connect people to agents affiliated with the program in the other 49 states as well,” he added.

Addison strives to guide all his clients seamlessly through the process of buying or selling a home. As a recent first-time home buyer, he understands how stressful and confusing the process can be. “I had no idea what I was doing,” he shared. “My realtor was there for me every step of the way and made me calm and comfortable. Now I’m providing that kind of care to my first-time homebuyers or sellers. I’m going to be with them every step of the way.”

As a broker who interacts with the market daily, Addison said, “I’ve been getting a lot of questions surrounding falling interest rates and when is the right time to buy. The right time to buy is when you are ready to buy. It’s different for everybody and I’m available to help you decide whether or not you are ready.”  Visit daltonaddison.remax.com to learn more.
