Oral Health Is Whole-Body Health

Christine Landes, DMD, Shares What's New At Newtown Dentistry

Newtown Dentistry is gearing up for another year as a full-service provider of oral care for all ages, with treatments ranging from routine dental checkups for children and adults to orthodontics, periodontics and oral surgery. Team members pride themselves on removing stress from dental visits by creating a trustworthy, one-stop shop for oral health.

Christine Landes, DMD — better known as Dr. Chris by patients — is a pediatric dentist and beloved member of Newtown Dentistry's masterful team. She highlights what's to come at the practice in the upcoming year.

WHAT IS NEWLY AVAILABLE TO PATIENTS IN 2026?

"We've opened a state-of-the-art Infant Laser Center dedicated to supporting newborn and infant anatomy, especially tongue-tie and lip-tie management. Our collaborative network includes lactation consultants, speech-language pathologists, myofunctional therapists and sleep experts, providing seamless support for feeding, breathing and early development.

Additionally, our upcoming oral surgery center, set to open early this year, will feature CBCT technology and AI-enhanced imaging, reducing unnecessary radiation and improving diagnostic precision. This center will elevate care for wisdom teeth, implants, pathology and surgical needs.

One of the most exciting advancements in modern dentistry is the connection between orthodontics and airway development. Current research shows by guiding jaw growth early and supporting proper oral posture, we may reduce the risk of sleep apnea later in life. Our orthodontic team embraces this preventive approach, addressing not just a smile's appearance, but how children breathe, sleep and thrive.

We also integrate povidone-iodine therapy during orthodontic treatment, a gentle and effective method to decrease inflammation and reduce demineralization around brackets and aligners, leading to healthier gums, stronger enamel and better long-term outcomes."

HOW CAN PEOPLE TAKE THE NEXT STEP ON DENTAL JOURNEYS THIS YEAR?

"During 2026, we invite everyone to make a powerful resolution: include us as part of your oral health and overall wellness journey.

In today’s rapidly evolving world of dental care, families are looking for more than just checkups and cleanings; they’re searching for a trusted home for lifelong health. Our dynamic, doctor-led multispecialty practice brings pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, general dentistry, oral surgery and periodontics together under one roof to provide comprehensive care that supports every stage of life. Your mouth is more than teeth: it’s a window into your entire body. Our unified team focuses on links between oral health and systemic wellness. Good dental care supports cardiovascular health, respiratory health, sleep quality, inflammatory balance and overall attention and focus."
