I named my restaurant “Other Mama” after my great grandmother who helped raise my dad and his siblings. This helped me learn that a mother’s love doesn’t always come directly from your mother. It’s a certain kind of person, someone who loves, cares, and does everything she can to set you up for success in life. So, let’s celebrate those women this Mother’s Day!
At Other Mama we have a specialty cocktail that is the perfect celebration drink. The Beatrice cocktail is a perfect May drink too because of the smell of fresh lemon and chamomile paired with Japanese Shochu, which is a special distilled beverage made of rice and barely. Here is how you make it:
Ingredients
2 oz shochu
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz honey
1 egg white
Instructions
Add all ingredients in a tin and dry shake until egg white froths
Add ice
Shake again
Strain into a coupe glass
Garnish with dried chamomile
