Out with the Old, in with the Nutritious

Several healthy food swaps that are helpful in making gradual dietary changes

It’s pretty common for most of us to start off the New Year optimistic about starting healthier eating habits. More often than not, those habits slowly begin to fade as we run out of recipe ideas, time, energy, and sometimes even just ingredients! Instead of frustratingly reinventing the wheel on creating brand new “healthy food” recipes from scratch every time, Carol Erisman, store manager at Profile by Sanford in Springboro, offers us some simple nutritious food swaps to your normal, everyday meals.

“Small things add up and most people do not get enough fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and healthy fats into their diet,” Erisman said. “We want to look for foods that will provide the fuel and nutrients that our body needs. By swapping out the unhealthier options with healthy food options, we can give our body the nutrients that it needs to function at its best.”

Profile was designed by a team of doctors and researchers at Sanford Health to provide a program that offers the most complete solution for healthy weight loss and lifestyle change. The Springboro location has a team of certified coaches that work with members 1-on-1 each week to follow a personalized nutrition, activity and lifestyle plan.
