When people think of painting, they often picture fresh walls, curb appeal, and beautifully finished spaces. For Sam Manges, owner of The Colorado Painting Company, painting has become something much bigger. It is a way to serve, restore, and invest in the community he calls home.

While many already know Sam for the successful business he has built, his story goes well beyond residential and commercial projects. Through charitable work, historic preservation efforts, and educational outreach, Sam has quietly turned his trade into a tool for meaningful change.

According to Sam, “We love to make our presence known within the community so that we can help those in need. Being involved in helping is something we feel morally obligated to do in the community, especially to those that are unable to purchase services like ours.”

One of the most inspiring ways Sam gives back is through charitable painting projects for local businesses and organizations. Whether helping refresh a struggling storefront, donating labor for a nonprofit space, or lending his team’s expertise where budgets are tight, he understands that a new coat of paint can do more than transform a building.

“Recently, we did a volunteer project for Brewability, which is a brewery in Inglewood Colorado that provides jobs for the disabled or people with special needs. We recently painted their entire establishment free of charge to help them receive a fresh start for the upcoming summer. We truly value what they do in the community and who they are as people.” said Sam.

Sam also plays an important role in preserving local history through historic restoration work for the city. In a time when many communities are trying to balance growth with heritage, restoring older buildings and spaces carries special significance.

Perhaps one of his most lasting contributions is his commitment to teaching the next generation. Sam leads painting workshops at Cherry Creek Innovation Campus (CCIC) that introduce young people to the trade, sharing techniques, discipline, and the value of skilled craftsmanship.

These workshops offer more than hands-on lessons. They show young people that trades can provide rewarding careers, entrepreneurship opportunities, and a sense of pride in creating something meaningful. By investing time in others, Sam is helping preserve knowledge while opening doors for future painters, business owners, and craftsmen.

In every city, there are people whose contributions happen quietly, without fanfare. They improve neighborhoods, support local dreams, preserve history, and guide younger generations. Sam Manges is one of those people.

There is a lot on the horizon for The Colorado Painting Company. “We plan to continue our presence in the industry in the front range and throughout Colorado, ensuring that we can help the upcoming trades men and women through education and training. Also, we will continue to stay active within the community doing what we can to help. We also look forward to expanding our services to bathroom and kitchen remodels in the next year.”

When he’s not at The Colorado Painting Company or working on a community project, you can find Sam spending quality time with his family. They love to visit the zoo, take camping trips and try new restaurants.
