Peake Wellness Center is excited to announce the addition of Nurse Practitioner Lisa Buss to their team. Known for offering natural solutions in a world that often leans on traditional medicine, Peake Wellness is dedicated to supporting overall health through holistic care under the expert guidance of Dr. Alexia Peake. We sat down with Lisa to learn more about her path to Peake Wellness.
How did you first make your way to Greeley?
While at Brigham Young University, I met my future husband Ken Buss, a Greeley native. We didn't want to stay in Utah, so we came out here in 1984 and have been here ever since.
How did you ultimately end up working with Dr. Peake?
For a little over ten years, I'd been teaching nursing, among a few other jobs, and I recently decided it was time to make a change. I had met Lexi [Dr. Alexia Peake] 15 years ago when we both worked nights in the North Colorado Medical Center ER. Though we hadn't seen each other in a very long time, I saw her posting for a holistically-minded Nurse Practitioner (because that's how she is and that's how her patients are) back in September. I applied for the job, we met for an interview, she recognized me, and we hugged happily. Shortly after our meeting, I was hired!
Over the past few months working for Dr. Peake, what have been your main contributions to the practice?
My favorite work is when I'm helping patients learn how to take care of themselves and their families better. I also really like helping people with chronic illnesses. I truly believe that the best way to help with issues like that is by educating patients on diet and lifestyle changes.
Peake Wellness Center is currently accepting new patients and offers multiple ways to connect, including in-person visits, telehealth consultations and access to a dedicated nurse line for convenience. To learn more visit peakewellness.com.
