Raised in her mother’s and grandmothers’ kitchens, Amanda Dalton Wilbanks was baking from a young age with fresh fruit picked from her grandfather’s farm and showing her love through desserts, but it wasn’t until her mother-in-law taught her how to make her very first pate brisée at the age of 25 that Amanda realized she could connect others with her passion for pie. Far exceeding her family’s appetite for pie at the rate she was baking, Amanda began selling her pies at farmers markets, soon seeing the joy and nostalgia these pies brought others.
Amanda founded Southern Baked Pie Company in 2012 using family recipes and an all-butter pie crust that melts in your mouth. She opened her first pie shop in Gainesville, GA followed by two more locations in Alpharetta and Buckhead and a growing e-commerce site. Vinings opens soon too.
The company joined together with Four Roses Bourbon and Polo in The Pines to create the most luxurious tasting Four Roses Bourbon Pecan Pie that benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. For one tasty week last month, a percentage of sales from the Four Roses Bourbon Pecan Pie online and at all four retail stores benefited The Sharon McCollum Knight, Polo in the Pines Pediatric Cancer Research Fund at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where 100% of the donation will be used to fund pediatric cancer research.

Inspired by the many entrepreneurs in her family, Amanda, a University of Georgia graduate, always knew she would start her own business one day that would allow her to give back to her community and inspire others as she had seen her father do growing up. Today, Amanda provides mentorship to her team of bakers and local students studying small businesses and entrepreneurship.
