Devon Thompson quickly points out the work ethic of his business partner Will Smith, which helps drive Premium Poolsmith.
“No one works harder than him,” Thompson said.
Smith started the company in 2018. Thompson joined as a partner in 2022, when the name was changed to Premium Poolsmith.
The business has grown steadily, adding 200 pools to its service roster in the past year. Their clients range from each end of the Metroplex, with several clients in Northlake and Argyle.
“We have a lot of references and more than 100 great reviews,” Smith said.
With each new client, Thompson or Smith greets them on the first visit. If there’s an issue, they are committed to making it right.
“We leave a great impression and want to get their pool right,” Smith said. “If there’s a problem, we will make it right.”
But it’s their family approach with their staff that is at the center of the business.
“The folks that work with us are more of a family,” Thompson said.
Many of these family members were looking for a help up when they arrived at Premium Poolsmith, and Smith and Thompson offered them an opportunity.
Smith, who has battled through nine years of sobriety and is a Marine, prides himself in being able to help others. He said the willingness to offer that assistance is paid back.
“It helps foster loyalty and hard work,” he said.
To Smith and Thompson, it’s tough when a relationship doesn’t work out with an employee.
“We have a passion for helping people. We want to see people grow and thrive,” Thompson said.
“We have at least six members that have turned their lives around. Being affiliated with us, they’ve been able to provide for their families.”
