Just because it’s no longer scorching out, doesn’t mean we need to say goodbye to pool season. One could argue that September’s milder temperatures make it one of the best times to relax poolside in the Valley. We’ve rounded up some beautiful and stylish hotel pools around town. So grab a refreshing beverage, maybe a snack or two, and luxuriate where you can soak up the sun - and the atmosphere.
Arizona Biltmore
The Arizona Biltmore is a historic, glamorous gem of a hotel. You may have heard that Irvin Berlin penned “White Christmas” here, and that Marilyn Monroe declared one of the hotel’s seven pools - the Catalina, built in 1931 by chewing gum magnates the Wrigley family - her favorite. So if you’re looking for a luxurious place to enjoy a dip in the water or the sun’s warm rays, the Arizona Biltmore pools have something for everyone.
The Saguaro Pool is a chic, adults-only oasis you can enjoy 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Surrounded by Frank Lloyd Wright’s inspired architecture and love of stained glass, and dotted by bold Bisazza “pebble” coffee tables created by Amsterdam designer Marcel Wanders, the pool exudes cool sophistication.
If family-friendly fun is what you’re looking for, the Paradise Pool will fit the bill. The pool has been fully renovated to include three water slides and a kid’s splash pad area. One of the waterslides, the Twist, takes its cue from Wright’s style and features shapes and spirals derived from nature.
Cabana rentals are available to non-hotel guest at the Saguaro Pool and Paradise Pool. Day passes are available at the Paradise Pool Sundays through Thursdays. To reserve, visit ResortPass.com and search Arizona Biltmore. Visit ArizonaBiltmore.com for more information.
Hotel Valley Ho
Hotel Valley Ho has been a staple in Scottsdale since it first opened its doors in 1956, and today its OH Pool Bar and Cabanas are still considered a hot spot. While poolside, you can enjoy handcrafted cocktails and light fare whether you choose to relax in one of their plush day beds or cabanas. Weekends through October feature live entertainment.
If a serene environment is more your style, the OHasis Pool is a perfect spot for leisurely laps or a peaceful lounge among the towering palms and lush landscape.
