How are you staying resilient through these changing times?

We are considered an essential business, so we modified our approach to handling customer orders through online virtual design consultations to discuss projects and present 3D designs. After having custom closet organizers and garage cabinets installed in my home in Yorba Linda, my wife Elaine and I were amazed at how much more space we had in our closets, and how much better we could organize and store our stuff in the garage. Clients are really impressed when you can use technology to show them just how well a design will work for their home, office, or garage.

How has your father inspired you?

My father was a teacher, a coach, and a high school principal. I use his philosophies with customers and employees to help educate and guide them through projects. He shared something with me I’ll never forget: he said “look for the good and praise it.” I always try to follow that advice today, especially in these divisive times.

What are you looking forward to?

I have a wonderful wife, two great sons, and a new daughter-in-law. I am very fortunate to have such a great family, and I look forward to getting back to some normalcy so we can all socialize again.

What are you most proud of?

My heritage and family story are full of the beautiful culture of my parents who are Cambodian and Mexican immigrants. Although our beginnings are humble we continually recognize the amount of opportunity available in this magnificent country, which is why I served in the US Army. I carry our name proudly as we strive to achieve great things.

How has your father inspired you??

My Father is an extremely hard worker who is never afraid to be uncomfortable during growth to build prosperity. During this time, our aim is to face adversity together and work harder, and not succumb to just hanging up the gloves.

What is a favorite memory of your father?

He taught me how to ride a bike without training wheels, which I see as a metaphor for tackling life. First, he starting out by holding the back of my seat so I wouldn't fall, me falling and being encouraged to get back up, and finally finding that balance to ride on my own. My father showed me the importance of support, adversity, and balance.

How is Car Medic adapting for the times?

Car Medic is considered essential under the automotive repair category. Everyone in our family is helping out, maintaining a positive forward-thinking attitude, and creating ways to pivot our business in a direction that will promote growth for the long term.
