Erin Lipton, owner of Primp and Blow in Evans, is celebrating the fourth anniversary of her salon. She tells us that she decided to bring Primp and Blow to Evans after visiting a blow dry bar in Tampa. “It really opened my eyes and I thought it was a fantastic idea. I just loved it and I knew other people would love it,” she shares. When arriving for your appointment, your stylist starts with a quick hair consultation. “You get a double shampoo, a three minute scalp massage, and then you get a blowout with our round brushes and we do a brush set,” says Erin. A brush set is when the stylist will roll your hair with a round brush and leave it in your hair for a few minutes to cool down, securing the style in place. During your visit, you can add on a ten minute scalp massage, hair therapy, or hot tools. “Hair therapy is where we consult with the client to see what their hair feels like and what their concerns are. We then do a deep conditioning where they get a couple extra minutes at the shampoo bowl with a warm towel on their head just to absorb the products,” says Erin.

One thing that’s neat about Primp and Blow is the partnerships they have with other brands. The only hair products that will be used on you are Oribe products. For extensions, they are partnered with Bellami, which are sew-in wefts, and Halo Couture, a temporary extension that sits on top of your head with a band that can be taken off at the end of the night. “Because we only ever use Oribe, we are so familiar with it and we are subject matter experts on Oribe and how to use it to get the best results out of the product. When the girls here touch your hair, they already know what products are going to work for your hair type,” Erin shares. After your appointment, your hair will look and feel amazing and the results will last for several days. “The technique of what we do is different from what you’re going to do at home. How we apply the products, how we blow in the products, what we’re doing at the shampoo bowl, it’s all very different.”

“I think it’s more than just a need or a want. Women take on so many roles within life and anytime you can sub-out something is wonderful. It’s caring for yourself, and for some people, it’s 45 minutes that they get to just sit and relax,” says Erin.

Erin would like to thank the Evans community for all of their support over the last four years. Primp and Blow is open seven days a week and you can schedule an appointment by going online to primpandblow.com, downloading their app, or by calling (706)920-2099.
