Profile Brings Style, Expertise to Homes

When Patty Vidrine and her husband purchased their 1950’s Mission Hills home in 2017, the midcentury ranch required a complete renovation, so their builder brought in trusted Kansas City company, Profile Cabinet and Design.

The Vidrines met several times with Profile representative Steve Nelson, toured other properties for inspiration, and ultimately settled on unique walnut cabinetry they loved and that would suit the character of their home. Patty Vidrine says she appreciated the inspiration that Profile brought to the renovation, not just to add style, but also functionality to the kitchen, mudroom, master suite, bathrooms and office.

“It’s really nice to be standing on your heated bathroom floors and have drawer space next to your walk-in closet. It’s perfectly set up,” Vidrine says. “Now that I’ve worked with Profile and experienced their service, I’m recommending them to others.”

Paul Porter, president of Profile Cabinet and Design, says there’s a reason why Profile is the largest custom cabinet manufacturer in the Kansas City area. The local company has been collaborating with builders, architects and homeowners for 40 years to design, build and install cabinetry and custom countertops in high-end homes. Today, Profile has a reputation for quality and expertise that has yielded a trusted relationship with nearly 100 builders.

“We make it a simple experience on-site for both the customer and the builder,” Porter says. “We work hard to give them the product they want, and they come away loving what they see.

“There are custom cabinets and there are custom cabinets designed and built just for your home,” Porter says. “We want to wow the end user. It’s a skill we bring to the party–that design and special flair.”

While a builder may offer an array of floorplans and kitchen designs, each one will have a personal touch. Customers also bring their own personal style preferences. Profile Cabinet salespeople are in the market day-in and day-out and can add a boost of design inspiration to help bring ideas to life.

Profile Cabinet’s portfolio is diverse. While all-white kitchens have been a staple in recent years, customers also appreciate the beauty in rich cherry, alder or walnut, complemented by stains that bring out the natural beauty of the wood. High-end wood and non-traditional, interesting materials for drawer fronts such as glass and thermal-fused laminate are increasing in popularity in today’s market.

Customers are veering toward cleaner designs. Rather than raised ornate panels, cabinets with a shaker, minimalist or euro profile offer a more modern look, Porter says.

No matter the trend, Profile will get the job done in a timely manner and to the client’s satisfaction.

“What we hear from builders is that they don’t have to worry about it when we do the job,” Porter says. “We make the process as seamless and painless as possible.”
