Let’s get to know each other! Here are some of my favorite things. What are yours? Email me and share.

Mary Jane Falls Trail

In the dog days of summer when it is 110 here, nothing beats getting away from the heat by heading to Mt. Charleston where it is a cool 85 degrees. I enjoy climbing up Mary Jane Falls Trail. Start early so you can complete the 3.2 round trip hike in a few hours. Then continue up the road to the Mt. Charleston Lodge for lunch while enjoying the fir trees.

Aloha

One of my favorite vacation spots is the island of Maui. In particular, the beaches of Kaanapali Beach and Lahaina. The tide is calm due to the islands of Lanai and Molokai being just a short 7 miles away, providing a natural protection from large surf, and the water is always a pleasant 80 degrees.

Saturdays Down South

If you are a college football fan, as I am, one thing you must experience is the tradition of a game in the Southeastern Conference. My team is the Alabama Crimson Tide. Having lived in Alabama as a teenager I was indoctrinated early and became a lifelong fan. Nothing beats Tuscaloosa on a Saturday before a home game.

Let’s Go Local

As a new resident of Henderson, I recently found my new go-to location for a casual meal - the Black Mountain Grill at the corner of Sunridge Heights and Eastern. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is pleasant. And the energy comes in strong during a VGK game.

Water Street District

If you live in Henderson and have not been to Water Street on a weekend, this is a must. Especially if you have friends in town, check out the pub crawl. I recommend hiring a driver or using a ride share to and from Water Street so you can fully enjoy what it has to offer.
