Put Your Best Face Forward

Holiday Looks That Shimmer And Shine

"Holiday glam is my favorite!” exclaims professional makeup artist and licensed esthetician, Brittany Mincey. “Using fun colors for the holiday and adding shimmer to the eyes, and even the lips, is a chic and vibrant look.”

Here, she provides some great tips to put your best face forward at upcoming holiday parties.

“Think red tones and winter colors with a pop of shimmer,” says Brittany. “High-shine shadows are so in right now.” She recommends Urban Decay eye shadow in “moondust.”

“It’s a trending product, and is best applied after spraying setting spray and then applying with a brush,” she explains. Brittany also recommends Urban Decay’s heavy metal liner, which is a glitter eyeliner that also adds a festive look.

“Rare Beauty’s Blush and Glow set is a must-have for holiday makeup,” she says. “You can add a touch of glow to high points of the cheeks, brow bone, and the bridge of your nose with your fingertips or a brush. This adds a gorgeous and radiant look that will stand out and turn heads.”

For skin, Brittany says a sculpted and glowy look with a pop of shimmer is so trendy. “I love adding glow to the skin by using the Westman Atelier Lit Up Glow Highlighter Stick. It gives the perfect dewy look and is easy to apply by just using your fingers. If you prefer a silky powder highlighter, Rare Beauty’s Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter in the shade ‘exhilarate’ is the best.”

Another product she highly recommends is Danessa Myricks Colorfix, a liquid pigment that one can use on eyes, cheeks and lips for a glazed finish. “There are so many colors that are perfect for the holiday season.”
