Suds Refillery

Reduce - Reuse - Recycle - Refill

From a lifestyle to a business, Kerry Jones-Steil and mother Barbette Jones have a passion for making a positive impact on the environment by not only reducing their own carbon footprint but enabling others to do the same. This was Kerry’s passion and lifestyle before it became a business idea. By visiting other states and seeing how they had created refineries she thought she could do the same, so she did.

She started out doing “pop-up” shops at different locations around Kansas City with her Suds Refillery Blue Van. People could either purchase new or bring their own bottles and refill them with the different products offered. She also does this today at her shop location in Shawnee.

Because the earth's environment suffers with each single-use plastic bottle, you can bring in or purchase a glass bottle at their shop location in Shawnee or at a pop-up event. You then fill the bottle with a product such as dish soap, shampoo, lotion, etc., and when you are done, you return and fill the bottle again.  They also sell shampoo bars, bath salts, and essential oils. They even have a men’s line of beard oil, and other men’s products.

Kerry is not only passionate about decreasing people’s carbon footprint but also making sure they are not using products that contain toxic chemicals as many mainstream products do. Kerry and her mom make some of the products themselves, so they know what is in them, or they source them from businesses they have personally researched and trust that they are of high quality and use safe ingredients when making their products.

With more people looking for non-toxic options, Suds Refillery is a great place to start and actually get to see (and smell!) the products before you purchase them. Be sure to check out their site for products and upcoming events.
