One of the best things about being surrounded with like-minded peeps in Castle Rock is no one here thinks hiking is just for the warmer months. Being outside enjoying nature can keep you present. Walking can be a form of meditation when you’re outside on a hike. Snow-covered trails and blue skies that seem to stretch into forever, that’s winter hiking at its best.
Don’t forget to be prepared! It can be fine one minute and a completely different story the next. As my mother always says way too much, “make good choices” which in this scenario means enjoy your adventure but check weather conditions, wear the right clothing, bring the right gear and before heading out make sure someone knows where you are headed for the day.
