This year, Northern Colorado Youth for Christ (NCYFC) is hosting its 15th annual prom on Saturday, May 3rd at NCYFC. This year’s theme: Space Cowboy.

Every year, NCYFC aims to provide the best prom experience for all students, free of charge. As such, NCYFC is collecting new and gently used prom dresses that will be provided to Greeley High School students in need to have the night of their life at the NCYFC prom.

According to Jeff Neel, Director of NCYFC, their annual prom began after a former NCYFC staff member read an article about the national average cost of prom and felt a calling to ensure all students have the opportunity to experience prom. “A lot of our kids were in alternative education programs of some sort that didn’t offer a prom, couldn’t afford to go to a prom or they’ve been kicked out of their schools, so they weren’t allowed to go to their prom,” Jeff says.

What started as a way to give Greeley students a traditional high school experience, has grown into something much more cherished, especially for the students who often feel excluded. “If we want them to feel like they’re special, they deserve to have this special event,” Jeff shares.

Dresses can be dropped off at NCYFC’s office, located at 134 11th Ave, Monday-Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dresses can be picked up by students any time before May, free of charge. Prom will take place at NCYFC and is open to all Greeley High School students.

NCYFC is also looking for sponsors to help provide this cherished event to the community. To donate or volunteer for NCYFC Prom, call 970.353.1231.
