Thanksgiving is the time to reflect on all that we are thankful for, and our residents certainly have many reasons to celebrate. Life at Riddle Village is filled with friendship and lasting memories, and holidays are no different. Whether residents are looking to gather with their friends and neighbors in one of our four restaurants or attend some seasonal celebrations like concerts or plays in our Towne Hall, it is always fun to celebrate in our community. With spacious guest suites and full access to all our amenities, it’s also common to see loved ones travel to Riddle Village to spend the holidays with us.

It isn’t just our beautiful community that residents are grateful for. Anyone who walks in our doors experiences the smiling faces and friendly atmosphere that Riddle Village is known for. It’s no surprise that many of our residents visited over the years before deciding this would be their home. Anne Carroll, a Riddle Village Resident since 2021, had several members of her family live here, prompting Anne to make the same decision.

“I’ve had four people in my family that lived here: my mother, aunts, and an uncle,” Anne said. “I saw the care and everything that went on here for years before I moved in, so it was a no brainer for me to continue with the next generation.”

Thanksgiving is a special time to appreciate all that there is to be grateful for, especially at Riddle Village.

“I’m thankful for the community because it’s just so friendly and wonderful,” Anne said. “From employees to administration, everything about it is welcoming. It is home, and it’s a great place to be.”

Residents are always grateful to the staff who work tirelessly every day in our community. Similarly, residents help staff feel appreciated for spending their holidays at Riddle Village. Gloria Tursi, Assistant Director of Dining, and a Riddle Village Employee for 25 years, gave us more insight into what goes into making Thanksgiving such a memorable day for everyone here.

“Holidays are very festive in dining,” Gloria said. “The staff is very happy and enjoys the holiday just as much as the residents. The kitchen is jumping, a special menu is prepared, the baker makes holiday cookies, and decorations and candies pertaining to the specific holiday are on display. Residents often bring down baked goods for the staff.”

It is these special relationships that make holidays at Riddle Village so memorable. Whether you are joining us for a special holiday meal in one of our restaurants or prefer to reserve one of our private venues to be catered by our culinary team, Thanksgiving at Riddle Village truly feels like home, and residents here feel more like family than neighbors.
