On May 28, a supercell storm swept through Central Austin, dropping three inches of rain in just 15 minutes. Floodwater surged into our home, forcing a complete renovation — floors torn up, walls rebuilt and belongings hastily packed into storage. Proper flood insurance had prepared us financially, but nothing softened the shock of watching water invade our sanctuary.
