Romancing Somerset County

Amateur Photographers Capture the Beauty, Majesty and Mystery of Our Parks

The Somerset County Park Commission recently challenged amateur photographers to “Show Us Your Best Shot” for its annual photo contest. This collection of winning images are a love letter to the county we call home, showcasing the wonder that exists just a short drive from our doors.

This year’s top entries are just a snapshot of the wonder of nature present in Central New Jersey. Somerset County alone offers over 300 square miles of landscapes, 14,000 acres of county-owned parkland, 8,000 acres of preserved farmland and 3,000 acres of greenways—so many places to explore! So, what are you waiting for? We encourage you to visit favorite parks and venture out to discover new locations.
