The school has secured a new property on Daniel Street, creating an opportunity to expand the student experience in a way that feels practical and full of possibility. Plans include new green areas, outdoor learning environments, gathering places, and an outdoor innovation lab for hands-on exploration, STEAM experiences, science investigations, creative projects, movement, play, and connection.
But the heart of the story is not the property itself. The heart is what children will be able to do there.
They will be able to step outside the classroom and learn with their hands in motion. They will be able to test ideas, make discoveries, work together, move their bodies, and experience lessons that feel active and alive. They will have more room to run, build, observe, imagine, and simply be children.
For teachers, the space opens new possibilities, too. A science lesson can become an outdoor investigation. A creative project can stretch beyond the classroom walls. Chapel gatherings, performances, summer camp activities, school traditions, and community celebrations can take place in spaces designed to bring people together.
At St. Benedict’s, that sense of togetherness matters.
