When we asked Kim Stoegbauer of The TomKat Studio (TheTomKatStudio.com) about sharing amazing kids spaces her team has designed, she knew exactly which project she wanted to show us.
“This project immediately came to mind,” says the Chandler-based interior designer and real estate agent.
The clients, pro baseball player Kirby Yates and his wife, Ashlee, had just purchased a new home and brought in the TomKat team to furnish and style it. The scope included designing bedrooms and a playroom for their young children.
The project was led by designers Serena Gonzalez and Jennifer Pyzel.
The girl’s bedroom was designed in soft, boho style and features a corner tent, which creates a cozy reading nook. Textural accents like the tiered yarn pendant light, woven baskets, and pillows add to the boho style. The wallpaper with tiny hearts finishes off the sweet space.
The boy’s bedroom features an “under the sea” theme, complete with charming wallpaper featuring waves, a macrame fish wall hanging, and custom art with a sea-inspired quote.
In the playroom, vibrant colors fill the space, meticulously planned to maximize enjoyment in every corner. A swing chair offers a cozy nook for reading, while a modular sofa provides flexibility for movie nights or naps. This room is thoughtfully arranged for optimal playtime fun.
