Reble and David Houten’s journey from education to Row House franchise ownership embodies their commitment to health, inclusivity, and community. Motivated by personal fitness experiences and the desire to introduce low-impact workouts locally, they opened a Row House studio in Henderson. Having experienced rowing’s benefits in Southern California, they saw an opportunity to fill a local fitness gap. In December 2022, they purchased the franchise, relocating to the valley in June 2023 to establish their studio (therowhouse.com/location/henderson) in the Smith's Shopping Center at 215 and Green Valley Parkway, making fitness accessible to the community.
The studio draws a diverse clientele, many of whom are returning to fitness post-injury or addressing health issues like joint replacements or heart conditions. Rowing’s low-impact nature creates a supportive environment where people of all fitness levels feel welcome. In fact, their youngest client is 14 and the oldest is 91!
This emphasis on inclusivity and community has fostered a deeply resonant, encouraging atmosphere that supports members on their health journeys.
Row House classes provide a structured, balanced workout focused on cardiovascular and overall fitness. Coaches lead synchronized rowing sessions, allowing participants to adjust their intensity individually. Beyond the studio, David and Reble actively engage with the community, reinforcing Row House’s mission of personal connection and involvement. As hands-on owners, they often row alongside members, enhancing their bond with the community they serve.
David and Reble aim for Row House to be more than a workout—it’s a place for lasting health transformation, especially in heart health. Members track progress via an app, monitoring improvements like increased rowing distance and lower resting heart rates. The couple shares success stories of members who have reduced or even stopped heart medications, highlighting Row House’s positive impact on wellness.
Offering varied classes, including cardio, strength, and stretching, all led by trained coaches, Row House supports members’ individual goals. Special promotions for educators, couples, and franchise-wide offers enhance accessibility. David and Reble actively participate in local events and charity drives, solidifying Row House’s role in the Henderson community. Milestones are celebrated starting with the member’s first 50k to unite members in celebrating each other’s achievements, while the app’s tracking features promote personal goal setting and a sense of accomplishment.
Reflecting on their Henderson experience, David and Reble express gratitude for the community’s support. They have found Henderson to be an ideal home for their studio—a place where inclusivity, health, and community connection thrive, making Row House an integral part of many lives.
