With a single taste, Larry Ransom discovered a passion that would reshape his life and eventually lead to the founding of Rush Lattin Cellars.
“Right after Michelle and I were married, a close friend shared an unlabeled bottle of wine, a ‘shiner.’ Until then, I wasn’t a wine drinker,” Larry recalls. “But that moment changed everything. It was an awakening. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I went searching for a wine that could match it, and that journey turned into something much bigger.”
As Larry and Michelle pursued their passion, they found themselves surrounded by a generous community of friends and mentors who helped them understand the art and science of winemaking. A one-barrel experiment in their garage grew into something remarkable: an artisan boutique winery that creates small-lot wines known for richness, purity, and elegance.
“I’ve always been driven by the pursuit of excellence,” says Larry. “Before wine, I spent decades helping leaders and teams unlock potential. I believe we’re all creators at heart, and winemaking became my next canvas.”
That spirit of creativity and connection extends beyond the cellar. Rush Lattin hosts regular Wine Nights, intimate gatherings where people come together to share great wine, good stories, and meaningful community.
“For me,” Michelle adds, “the greatest joy is seeing people connect, people who might never have crossed paths otherwise, because of a glass of wine and a shared moment.”
Rush Lattin Cellars is currently located inside The Vault in Maltby, 9206 200th Street SE, Suite B-6a, Snohomish, with plans for a second tasting room coming soon.
