Safer, Quality Air

MoreVent Heating & Cooling Plumbing Services Provide Healthier Homes

Getting the most benefits from home HVAC systems always was important, but now, how those systems contribute to healthy personal environments is even more vital.

Long before the COVID-19 pandemic, the guiding principles at West Chester-based MoreVent Heating & Cooling Plumbing were to “do the right thing no matter how hard it is to do, and take care of customers and team members.” As an essential service provider, the company's principle rings even louder as everyone takes steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus while continuing to support health, comfort and safety.

When coronovirus concerns surfaced, MoreVent Owner Marco Giancroce immediately increased the sanitizing and safety protocols followed by his technicians between service calls, incorporating recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials.

"We discussed and assessed exposure risk with our staff, and our service calls include a contactless payment system to avoid cash handling," Marco explains.

Marco set the stage of working closely with homeowners through open communications and extra precautions to enable HVAC inspections and service calls to continue to occur safely for all involved. Examples of these precautions include the technicians wearing face masks, gloves and booties over their shoes and them practicing safe physical distancing practices and thoroughly cleaning all points of touch behind them with a virus killing cleanser at their clients' homes.

Community Support to Health Care Heroes

MoreVent also stepped up to secure and have delivered from Marino's Catering lots of comforting Italian meals to local hospital professionals at Crozer-Chester Medical Center who are on the front lines of caring for those in need. "We wanted to be sure health care teams got a chance to feel like they had a home-cooked meal, including dessert," says Chris Streahle, MoreVent marketing director.

"Your community is our community! This support to our health care heroes wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our teammates and support from our loyal clients," adds Chris.

During the year, MoreVent supports the Chester County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the West Chester United Soccer Club, among other local sponsorships.

Improving Indoor Air Quality

According to Environmental Protection Agency experts, indoor air pollution is ranked in the top five environmental risks to public health, and has been linked to symptoms such as chronic headaches, fatigue, sinus congestion, coughing, sneezing trouble, concentration and irritation of the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. Also, poor indoor air quality can aggravate existing conditions, including asthma and allergies.

MoreVent professionals indicated the most effective way to improve indoor air is to eliminate sources of pollutants or reduce their emissions through a combination of the proper equipment and maintenance.

HVAC Systems should be checked and adjusted for proper ventilation, increasing the amount of fresh air that's brought indoors. Chris says filters should be changed monthly, due to the dust and other pollutants they trap. MoreVent technicians can clean the systems to reduce recirculating dust, dirt and pollen.

Chris says they also provide filtration technologies that can humidify and filter indoor air. MoreVent technicians recommend using the Clean Air Defense System AirRanger's advanced filtration to reduce harmful particles and pathogens and allergy symptoms, while removing odors and reducing dust and debris.

He says germicidal ultraviolet (UVC) systems can be installed directly into HVAC systems as a non-toxic, air disinfection system that kills pathogens. "It's safe for use in homes with children, older adults and pets," he adds.

The UVC lamps work by harnessing the energy of the sun’s UVC rays to disrupt the DNA of living, airborne organisms trapped in the air and air duct systems of homes. Chris says UVC lamps are effective against viruses, bacteria, molds, pollen and other pathogens. The Clean Air Defense System integrates with existing HVAC equipment and ductwork to provide maximum whole-house efficiency, he adds.

"Without proper filtration systems in homes, we're all just recirculating what's in those coughs and sneezes," says Chris.

Ensure Seasonal Efficiencies

In general, MoreVent professionals provide services on the HVAC side for air conditioning systems, heating systems, and indoor air quality and comfort equipment. On the plumbing side, they service hot water heaters, sump pumps and water conditioning systems. Now's the time for summer-related tuneups of equipment before hot weather hits. Technicians can check for any potential damage to outdoor HVAC units due to normal usage as well as excessive water getting into units during storms, lack of efficiencies from widely fluctuating temperatures, residual wind damage and possible lightning strike problems.

They also can inspect for straightforward electrical issues.

Because air conditioning, heating and plumbing problems happen without notice, MoreVent teams are available 24 hours a day with no overtime charges.
